PEDPRO_MEASURE_METRICS¶
PEDPRO_MEASURE_METRICS Enhanced with Connection Area Metrics¶
Overview¶
The PEDPRO_MEASURE_METRICS worker has been enhanced to provide more comprehensive connection metrics for pedestrian protection analysis.
For each impact point, the worker now reports both the closest connection area and all connection areas, giving users greater insight into nearby structural connections and their influence on pedestrian protection evaluations.
Key Features¶
- Added Closest Connection Area for each impact point
- Added All Connection Areas for each impact point
- Provides more comprehensive connection metrics
- Enhances pedestrian protection analysis and reporting
- Improves downstream evaluation of connection-related measurements
PEDPRO_MEASURE_METRICS Enhanced with Target Surface and Clearance Metrics¶
Overview¶
The PEDPRO_MEASURE_METRICS worker has been enhanced to provide additional geometric information for each pedestrian impact point.
The worker now reports the target part surface area and the corresponding part name for every impact point. It also introduces an optional Clearance from Projection Point input, enabling clearance measurements from the projected impact point on the panel surface.
Key Features¶
- Reports the target part surface area for each impact point
- Reports the corresponding target part name
- Added an optional Clearance from Projection Point input
- Measures clearance from the projected impact point on the panel surface
- Provides more comprehensive geometric metrics for pedestrian protection analysis
PEDPRO_MEASURE_METRICS Enhanced with Target Area and Part ID Outputs¶
Overview¶
The PEDPRO_MEASURE_METRICS worker has been enhanced with two new outputs: target_area and target_area_part_id.
These outputs identify the nearest target part associated with each pedestrian impact point and report its corresponding part ID, providing additional context for pedestrian protection analysis and downstream reporting.
Key Features¶
- Added the
target_areaoutput - Added the
target_area_part_idoutput - Identifies the nearest target part for each impact point
- Reports the corresponding target part ID
- Enhances geometric and structural information available for pedestrian protection analysis
PEDPRO_MEASURE_METRICS Enhanced with Vehicle Cross-Section Area Profile Along X¶
Overview¶
The PEDPRO_MEASURE_METRICS worker now supports an optional Vehicle Cross-Section Area Profile Along X feature.
When the Section Profile option is enabled, the worker generates a section_profile output containing the vehicle cross-section profile along the X-axis together with associated scalar metrics. This enhancement provides additional geometric insights for pedestrian protection analysis and vehicle cross-sectional evaluation.
Key Features¶
- Added optional Vehicle Cross-Section Area Profile Along X support
- Generates a
section_profileoutput when the Section Profile option is enabled - Produces the vehicle cross-section profile along the X-axis
- Includes associated scalar metrics with the generated profile
- Enhances geometric analysis for pedestrian protection studies
PEDPRO_MEASURE_METRICS Enhanced with Hit Point Coordinates and LS-DYNA Visualization Output¶
Overview¶
The PEDPRO_MEASURE_METRICS worker has been enhanced with a new hit_point output column and support for generating an optional LS-DYNA visualization file.
The hit_point column reports the (X, Y, Z) coordinates of each pedestrian impact point, while the optional pedpro_targets.k output provides an LS-DYNA keyword file that can be used to visualize the impact locations within compatible post-processing tools.
Key Features¶
- Added a
hit_pointoutput column containing the (X, Y, Z) coordinates of each impact point - Added support for generating an optional LS-DYNA visualization file (
pedpro_targets.k) - Provides precise spatial information for every pedestrian impact point
- Enables visualization of generated targets in LS-DYNA-compatible tools
- Improves downstream analysis and debugging of pedestrian protection results
PEDPRO_MEASURE_METRICS Automatically Generates Connection Distance Columns¶
Overview¶
The PEDPRO_MEASURE_METRICS worker has been enhanced to automatically generate Connection Distance columns in its output dataset.
These additional columns provide the computed distances between each pedestrian impact point and the associated vehicle connections, making it easier to analyze connection proximity and use the results in downstream pedestrian protection workflows.
Key Features¶
- Automatically generates Connection Distance columns in the output dataset
- Computes distances between impact points and associated connections
- Eliminates the need for manual distance calculations
- Enriches the output dataset with additional geometric metrics
- Supports downstream analysis and reporting

PEDPRO_MEASURE_METRICS Enhanced with Bumper Front Tip Coordinates¶
Overview¶
The PEDPRO_MEASURE_METRICS worker has been enhanced to record the bumper front tip location for each analyzed vehicle and to optionally export target coordinates relative to the detected bumper front tip.
This enhancement provides a consistent vehicle-based reference frame for pedestrian protection analysis by capturing the bumper front tip position and enabling target locations to be reported in bumper-local coordinates.
Key Features¶
- Records the detected bumper front tip location for each analyzed vehicle
- Added optional Export Bumper-Local Coordinates input
- Reports target positions relative to the detected bumper front tip
- Provides a consistent vehicle-based coordinate reference
- Supports downstream pedestrian protection analysis and reporting
