VECTOR DOT¶
Computes the dot product (scalar inner product) of two equal-length numeric vectors. Use this worker whenever you need to project one vector onto another or calculate the sum of element-wise products in a workflow pipeline.
When to use¶
Classification: process.
Tagged: dot_product, inner_product, linear_algebra, math, scalar, vector.
Inputs¶
| Label | ID | Type | Default | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vector 1 | vector1 | vector | — | First input vector (array of numeric values); must have the same length as Vector 2. No default — must be connected to an upstream vector output. | |
| Vector 2 | vector2 | vector | — | Second input vector (array of numeric values); must have the same length as Vector 1. No default — must be connected to an upstream vector output. |
Outputs¶
| Label | ID | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| vector_dot_output_1 | vector_dot_output_1 | number | Scalar result of the dot product (sum of element-wise products of Vector 1 and Vector 2); dimensionless unless the inputs carry physical units, in which case the unit is the product of the two input units. |
