Here is a list of questions that may arise using the platform. Questions are organized into application categories. Feel free to sift through them however seems easiest.
26.1. Introduction¶
- How do I log into d3VIEW?
- Enter the URL you received in the browser and fill in your login credentials. If you did not receive a link, user name and password, please talk to your administrator. More Information
- How do I access my applications
- Click the upper left hamburger menu to see all of the applications available to you. More Information
- How do I customize my dashboard?
- Add pages by clicking the respected blue button. Edit pages but clicking the pencil icon next to a page name in the left-side panel. More Information
26.2. Job Submission¶
- How do I submit a job?
- Click on HPC submit in the top blue bar. In the next window, upload your simulation files, choose your configuration, add it and then submit. More Information
- How do I submit multiple simulations?
- After opening the submission window, upload your files and then make sure to click “Activate Multiple Simulations.” You can also set up DOE parameters to submit multiple iterations of the same simulation. Continue the submission as normal. More Information
- How do I save a configuration?
- Once you have chosen your desired configuration, add it and then click the save button on the top right corner of the configuration box. Make sure to give it a suitable name. More Information
- What file types are supported for job submission?
- All solver file inputs are supported. Some of these include: .k, .key and .inp.
26.3. Simulations¶
- How do I review my simulations?
- Go to your simulations page and click on the name of the simulation you would like to review. More Information
- How do I search through my simulations?
- Use the filtering options located at the top of the page. More Information
- How do I review my simulation details?
- After opening a simulation, detail will be listed in the first tab. More Information
- How do I review my HPC job information?
- HPC job submission information will be in the second tab of the simulation window. More Information

- Files will be in the third tab of the simulation window. Click on a file name to open them. More Information

26.4. Physical Tests¶
- How do I upload a new test?
- Go to your Physical Tests page and click on the green button at the top right corner. In the next window, upload your file(s), fill out any specifications and click Process. More Information
- How do I review and edit my physical test?
- From your Physical Tests page, click on a test name to open. Here, you can study and overview, review responses, and view your files. Click the edit button at the top right in this window to make any basic changes to the test. More Information
- How do I add and review files to my physical test?
- Review files in the physical test window on the third tab. You can add files from this tab by clicking the Add File button at the top of your files list. More Information
- How do I compare physical tests with simulations or other tests?
- From the Physical Tests page, select a test or multiple tests. Under the selected drop-down menu, choose the compare option. In the next window, click Add Records and choose other simulations or tests to add to the comparison. Hit Process to finish. More Information
26.5. Databases¶
- How do I create a database?
- Go to your Databases page and click on the blue button at the top right corner of the page. Fill out basic information, add data and inputs, add users and utilize the aggregator if necessary. Then, click Create Database. More Information
- How do I edit a database?
- Click on the hamburger menu at top right corner of your database thumbnail on the main databases page. Choose Edit and make any necessary changes in the next window. More Information
- How do I review a database?
- Click on the Databases name on the main page to open. Review all your records in the table and use filters on the left to search through them. More Information
- How do I use database filters to sift through records?
- Default filters are created to reflect import fields in your database on the left side panel. Enter inputs into these filters or choose from the list that appear. Add your own filter based on the fields of your database. You can also search using one word descriptions for records at the top of this side panel. More Information
- How do I add more records to a database?
- Click on Add Record at the top the left side panel in a database. Then, fill out the inputs. More Information
- How do I compare database records?
- Select desired records to compare, and then under the Selected drop-down choose Compare. More Information
- How do I group records?
- Select desired records to group, and then under the Selected drop-down choose Grouping -> Save as New Group. Indicate the name and color in the prompt box and click Save. More Information
- How can I review a visualized summary of my database?
- After opening your database, click over to the Statistics tab at the top. Here, you can study and overview of each field type by values or names. More Information
26.6. Templates¶
- How do I create a template?
- Create a template by choosing responses from your Simulations or Physical tests, uploading your own or picking from the library. From the Templates main page, click on blue button at the top right of the page, and choose the respected tab based on your version of creation. More Information
- How do I apply a template?
- Apply a template to a simulation before by adding conditions to the template. Apply to a physical test by choosing the template during the uploading process. Lastly, apply by extracting responses after a simulation or physical test has processed by choosing this option in the response tab of the simulation or physical test. More Information
- How do I configure my templates?
- On your Templates main page, click on the 3 dots next to a template and choose configure. More Information
- How do I view my extraction order?
- On your Templates main page, click on the 3 dots next to a template and choose View Extraction Order. More Information
- How do I add conditions to my template?
- Open the template by clicking on its name and go to the conditions tab. Choose a condition type, add condition inputs and click Create. More Information
- How do I update template commands?
- pen the template by clicking on its name and go to the views tab. Scroll down to the commands box to update. You can also update this under Configure Template. More Information
26.7. Studies¶
- How do I view a study?
- Go to the Studies page and click view on study thumbnail. More Information
- How do I compare studies?
- Go to the Studies page and click compare on study thumbnail. Choose to add more records or Process to compare the study by itself. More Information

- Go to the Studies page and click edit on study thumbnail. Make any necessary changes and click Ok. More Information
- How do I create a study?
- Click the blue button in the top right corner of the Studies main page and fill out the required specifications. Or, when comparing simulations or physical tests, go to the Export option at the top right and choose Save as a Study. More Information

- How do I upload a file?
- Go to the Files application page and click the upload button on the top commands bar. Click the orange dotted box to add a file from your local machine and hit Process. More Information

- How do I organize files?
- Create folders and move files around using the respected buttons on the top commands bar. You can also drag-and-drop files or folders into other folders. More Information

- View a file by double clicking on it or right-clicking and choosing view. More Information
- How can I share a file?
- Share a file or files by selecting them and choosing Share on the top commands bar. Or, you can right-click on a file and choose Share. More Information
26.9. Projects¶
- How do I create a new project?
- Go to the Projects main page and click the blue button at the top right corner. Fill out attributes and click Ok. More Information
- How do I populate a project with simulations and physical tests?
- Open a project and click on the Simulations or Physical Tests tab on the left side panel. From here, click the green button at the top right corner that indicates New and continue with the process as normal. Make sure to choose the project in the specifications. More Information
- How do I add a template to a project?
- Open a project and click on the Templates tab on the left side panel. Click the green button at the top right corner that indicates New and continue with the process as normal. More Information
- How do I edit a project or aspects of a project?
- Aside from editing the contents of your project - simulations, physical tests, templates - by opening the project, you can edit aspects of a project on the Projects application main page. Click on the pencil icon right above the project folder icon to make these changes. More Information

- How do I access the Turings Application?
- Under your name a the top right corner, choose the HPC Servers option. Then, click on Utilization on an HPC server thumbnail. More Information
